A destination imagined for gathering, celebration, and quiet retreat. Set into the dry folds of a coastal hillside, the project is unfolding — slowly, like mist, like memory.

We are thinking in dualities.

Contradictions are welcome.

Expected and unexpected.

The seen and unseen.

Smooth and textured.

Organic, inorganic.

Real, surreal.

The mood is heavy with heat. Humidity rising.
Ideas drift in like smoke — slow, fragrant, unformed.

Biomimicry anchors the concept, not as mimicry but intuition.
Shapes are borrowed from gills, fronds, exoskeletons.
The difference between a lamp and a species starts to blur —
still worth drawing.

Materials whisper of the island: copper, stone, timber, terracotta, concrete.
All trying to become something else.
Patina is embraced. Weathering is part of the story.
Water — rare in this region — is held sacred.
Collected, filtered, slowed.
It traces its way through the site, cooling courtyards and nourishing root zones, as it always has.

This is a celebration of Bali, for Bali.
Not a reinterpretation, but a recognition.
Architecture and landscape hold space for ritual, rest, and beauty,
crafted with the hands and memory of the place itself.

Palms lean in. Light shifts.
Sketches stray from the brief.
